It is hard to figure out what is a worthwhile opportunity on the internet and what is not. Well is Cashcrate worth your time?
I took a look at cashcrate and it was kind of interesting and I was able to earn about $10.00 in about a half an hours time. I ended up watching you tube and seeing what others had done first and how they surf through these ads quickly. Now I read some people in the forums on the cashcrate website and some people were saying that they were making around $100.00/ month with very little work. Now at this point I would have to say that I have no way of refuting this but I am a little skeptical.
First I am going to explain what cashcrate is. It is what is called a GPT (get paid to). This is exactly what it sounds like. You get paid to go through a bunch of advertisements and have them served up to you in waves. Now Cashcrate separates the offers into offers that require a credit card and those that don't.
How to do the non-credit card offers work. Most of these are like 15 pages of ads that you must surf through to get the bronze, silver, and gold offers. Each one of these ads are yes or no and you must click through these until you reach the silver and gold offers. At this point you can submit this to get paid. You will be paid anywhere form $.25 to $3.00 for doing this. Now each one of these series of adds will promise something like a $100.00 to a $500.00 gift certificate. To get one of these offers you must sign up for a service. Now you do not need to sign up for the service to get your credit at cashcrate.
How to do the credit card offers. These are offers to sign up for a service for a free trial period. This would be something like Stamps.com or Netflix. These require a credit card and are suppose to be able to be canceled (within a set period of time) without a charge. These pay anywhere between $3.00 and $20.00. I have not done any of these offers because I do not like giving my credit card out like that.
As far as I have heard, cashcrate is a reputable site and people can make money there. It is open to people 13 and older. I will verify how this works. The jury is still out as to whether people can make a $100.00 per month. In my opinion, this is not a nice way to make money. It is just to annoying for me to click through all these ads to make a dollar.
The one thing I will say, however, is that the money looks real and I think that someone could easily make $20.00 in a one hour sitting. Maybe more if they try the offers that require a credit card. If you are interested in finding out more about this site, the site is in the two hyperlinks at the top of the page. I will report more as I find out more.
I wish you success.

Types of ebay businesses..The Scrapper
In the last post, I spoke about eBay in general. To create a successful eBay business a person first needs a product to sell.
Now there are two classes of people who sell on eBay and they are:
1) Those who are their own merchandisers.
2) Those who get a commission based on selling items for other people.
In formulating a product offering, we are only going to concentrate on people who merchandise their own products. How do people become merchandisers? Lets paint a story first of someone who has a specialized knowledge.
Dennis is a machinist and has been in the machining trade for over 20 years. He has a wide knowledge of many different types of industrial machines as well as their usage in industry. He frequents auctions, company and government surplus stores, and classified ads and craigslist to buy equipment for his home shop.
Lets stop the story for a moment and observe a couple of things. Dennis has a specialized knowledge which is machinery that is used by machinists. He also has a source to buy these items.
Dennis has accumulated a lot of machinery as well as odds and ends. He decides to start using eBay to buy more things. While browsing through eBay, he sees that the things that he buys sell for quite a bit more than he pays. He thinks to himself, "Why don't I start selling the stuff that I buy on eBay?"
He starts selling on eBay and finds out that he can make a better living as a merchant than he can as a machinist. He starts a business buying and selling used machinery.
Now this story may sound far fetched to those who are not familiar with industrial surplus (also known as scrapping). In Seattle, there is company surplus store called Boeing Surplus. They sell their surplus items machinery, computers, office products, scrap metal, etc. There are people who turned over a million dollars of merchandise per year on eBay just based on the surplus of Boeing.
Before you start jumping on this band wagon, remember what I said in the beginning of the post........Dennis has a specialized knowledge in the field of machinery. If you don't have this knowledge, you will not know what is used and what has value in a particular industry which in our example was industrial machinery.
So I am going to set some guidelines for what I will term scrapping (buying used items and reselling them):
1) A person must have a specialized knowledge in the area that they want to merchandise. It does not need to be industrial machinery. It could be books, clothes, automobiles, office equipment, home appliances, antiques, etc.
2) A person must have a source to buy this merchandise.
3) A person must be able to sell this merchandise for an amount higher than they bought.
Before the internet there were people who would go to garage sales and many different types of auctions and buy items in which they could resell at a profit. So this was a valid merchandising effort long before eBay came on the scene.
This is one way to start an eBay business that will make money. Just remember that your key to being successful in this type of venture is that you must have the knowledge of the value of the items that you buy.
Now this type of eBay business is not for everyone but there are other types of eBay business that can be started to make a person money.
I wish everyone success.

eBay a great way to make money online
............but you can make money offline also.
In this series about eBay, I am going to explore ways to make money with eBay. Now everyone has heard make $7500.00 a month or make your millions on eBay. You know what, it can be done but you do not need to pay these fools to tell you how.
There is a wide spread belief that there is a magic blue print for making money on eBay but the simple fact is eBay is just one of many vehicles to sell items. There have been people who have succeeded well before eBay and will continue to do well without eBay.
This may sound sarcastic but for a person to succeed in any retail venture they need to be a good merchant. You must sell things that people want to buy and you must also sell it at a price that is appropriate for the people who are buying. Lastly, a person needs to make a profit. There you go that is the big secret in a nut shell.
eBay is a very inexpensive mass market so it can bring your product to a mass audience. However, the big draw back of eBay is that it is a place where there is a lot of competition and also most all people who shop there are looking for a deal. So the big key again is to have a product that people will buy and to sell it at a price that is appropriate for the market.
In the following series, I will be exploring these topics:
1) Researching what sells and what doesn't sell on eBay.
2) How to find products to sell on eBay.
3) Running eBay as a business.
4) The investment that will be required.
5) How to run your eBay auctions like a business.
In this day and age, there are ways to make money on the Internet. One must be wary though of false claims and get rich quick schemes. eBay is the real thing but one must understand that to succeed they must treat it like a real business. For some people, eBay is not appropriate for anything other than getting rid of junk in the basement. As in any other vocation, a person will need to spend time and invest money to make money. The people who think they will be sitting on a beach relaxing while their millions come in are going to be very disappointed.

So you want to make a million dollars online.
So you want to make a million dollars online.
Well folks I don't want to disappoint you but that is not likely to happen.
We all have this view that there is a way to make money based on not having to work real hard.
Is this really possible online?
I have found out that it is easy to find sites where you can actually make $10.00 to $30.00 in one sitting. Not too bad huh?
Well lets just look at it this way. If you were paid $15.00 per hour and you worked 2 hours you would make that $30.00. If you are spending 4 hours to get $30.00, then you are really working at half the rate.
In the early eighties, there were a proliferation of multilevel marketing programs that promised........You will not have to trade your time for money. A few people did well but most of the people on the bottom rungs never made money and they traded a lot of time for no money. I have known people in Amway, World Connect, Primerica, Nikken. I remember a lot of people started out and said that they were making good money. With the exception of Amway, most of the people lost down line as the trends in the US changed. Is it possible to make money with a MLM? The answer is yes but for most people the odds are fleeting.
The online revolution came along in the late nineties and promised to decimate the whole brick and mortar retail business. Everyone is going to be shopping online. Of the few survivors, there are Amazon.com and eBay. Thousands of .com failed at the year 2000. Was this the y2K? No it wasn't. It was just a failed business model. Yes it was. The few that survived to today are the ones that had good business models. Alas, brick and mortar is still around
When blogs hit the web with force, a person could write what they wanted and sell advertisements on his/her blog. Many people thought that they could make good money just writing what they wanted. It turned out for most as the old saying goes, "You are lucky to earn enough to buy a good cup of coffee with your monthly earnings" As with the MLM's only a few sharp people make money with blogs.
Now there are a lot of new ways to make money on the web and I will research these.
Right now I am starting many of these programs and my hunch at this point is that there is not anything out there that will make a person really wealthy quick. There are some sites that a person can make some pocket cash but that is likely about all they'll make.
There is off course eBay and online investing where a person can make a lot of money. To make money on eBay, a person has to be good merchant. This is the same as any other brick and mortar retail establishment. To make money on online investing, a person needs to have a lot of money behind them and a lot of experience.
The old adage, "You can't get something from nothing" applies here on line. In almost all cases, you are going to need to put time in to make money.
I wish everyone success.

Can you make money on writing sites part 1.
I see a flower
growing under a tree.
Sense was living inside
creating a unique sympathy.
I paint the flower as I see it
and the flower gives color.
Beauty is found in rendition
and set in silence.
I dare not pick the flower.
Death will cause it no care
and causes it to be the same
as any flower laying in wrap.
Definition shall not revoke
the will of one so silent.
Come to me and cause
parity in my spirit.
Take care of the flower
old tree.
I am ready and shall
find the flower that is inside me.
My fiction writing online actually started on a site called thisisby.us. This was a great experience for me because I was able to learn how to write creatively. I always had this inside me but let tell you I did not write for most of my life. I would say that my experience was actually very good at this site. Unfortunately, as this site grew it became more of social site and good writing became secondary.
Thisisby.us shares 50% of its revenue with authors on the site. Now the way a person gets paid is by both views and how many people vote for the post. This is called goodness which is equal to the number of votes of registered users times the number of views. Now by looking at my earnings, I would say that a person makes about $3.00 to $4.00 for every 100,000 goodness. If you are a really good writer, you could expect to make about $3.00 to $10.00 per month.
Your time spent is not worth the payout. It is definitely not about the money. It is a good site to meet people. If you can wade through the rants and flame wars between authors, this site can be fun. There are not that many people anymore, however, helping others with their writing skills.
People can ascertain if their posts are doing well by the comment section and how many views and votes they get. A person who is able to self analyze themsleves will be able to determine if their writing is good or bad. Writing is something that takes practice. If you practice your craft, you will become better at it.
Thisisby.us in my opinion is a social site and you will not make any appreciable income there.

Online money is it possible?
Do you want to make money online? Is it really possible?
In this blog we are going to reaseach and see what makes money and what doesn't. Here are some subject areas that we are going discuss:
Surveys: Taking surveys has been touted as a very good way of making money online. Anywhere from $.20 to over $100.00. I am going to try some various different sites and report back to you what I find and see how viable this opportunity is. We will see if the time spent justifies the earnings. I will also let you know what my opinion is on the best sites. I am starting right now so we shall see if this is a viable opportunity.
Getting paid to shop online: I tend to think that this is a tough way to earn a $10.00 gift certificate. I will give it shot and report back to you.
Blogging: There are some people who make a lot of money blogging. However, this is actually a few in million quite literally. There are some people who make a few hundred a month but this is still a tiny minority. I am going to look at some successful blogs and we will determine what makes these blogs successful. I will also show affiliate programs, pay per post, and AdSense programs. What can you use to make money?
Writing Sites: I write poetry, fiction, and non-fiction articles. There are sites like Hub pages, Thisisby.us, Helium, eHow, etc. that give you part of their earnings for what you right. These are all based on algorithms based on views and voting.
Getting Paid to click adds: There are sites that will pay you to click adds. Now this is not clicking adds like AdSense. These are closed sites that serve you adds. The advertiser pays these sites to serve you adds. In my opinion, I think this is one of the worst ways to make money on line but I will give it a fair shot before I rule this out as not viable.
Sites that offer multiple surveys: There are some sites that offer multiple surveys and you receive anywhere from $.20 to $10.00 for participating. We will look at some of these sites and see if it is viable way to make money online.
eBay: I own a business and I have used eBay to buy and sell over the internet. In my opinion eBay is one of the best ways to make money on the internet. Many people charge to tell you their secrets to making money on eBay. I am going to tell you the straight poop and it will be free. To make money on eBay, you have to be a good merchant. You have to sell things that people will buy. (plain and simple) I will explain how you can do this from experience and I will also present ideas for people who would like to make money on eBay.
Trading equities online: I have traded and studied equities for over 18 years. There are some new players who day trade and play options. There are many who lose. Now i have other blogs dedicated to trading strategies. In this blog, I am going to discuss general principles and how you can learn how to invest and trade.
I will say one thing.......Don't quit your day job.
Most of these aforementioned topics are not going to make anyone a full time income. Now I am not going to tell you not to do it and you will hear some incredible stories. I will assure you of that. What I am going to do is break these apart and let you know the mechanics and how all of these work.
Thank you for reading.
